Vietnam issues 90-day e-visas to all countries and territories from August 15, 2023

So far, Vietnam has only issued 30-day single-entry e-visas to citizens of 80 countries.

The new electronic visa issued by the Immigration Department of Vietnam to foreigners through the electronic transaction system is valid for multiple entry within 90 days.

Foreigners can access the e-visa portal at https://www.immigration.gov.vn or https://dichvucong.bocongan.gov.vn/ to apply.

  • All information related to the trip, including expected date of entry, port of entry, expected temporary residence address in Vietnam, length of stay in Vietnam should be provided.
  • In the e-visa request information section, foreigners choose a single-entry or multiple-entry visa based on the purpose of their visit.
  • The form requires information from the passport data page and an image of the page and passport photo must be uploaded.

Applicants will be required to pay a single entry visa fee of 25 USD after receiving the electronic file number from the immigration authority.

Foreigners applying for an e-visa can use the application code to check the status on the e-visa portal. It takes three business days for the visa to be issued.

  • 13 airports allowing foreigners to enter and exit Vietnam by e-visa: Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, Cam Ranh, Da Nang, Cat Bi, Can Tho, Phu Quoc, Phu Bai, Van Don, Tho Xuan , Dong Hoi, Phu Cat, Lien Khuong.
  • 16 land border gates allow electronic visa issuance: Tay Trang (Dien Bien province), Mong Cai (Quang Ninh), Huu Nghi (Lang Son), Lao Cai, Na Meo (Thanh Hoa), Nam Can (Nghe An) ), Cau Treo (Ha Tinh), Cha Lo (Quang Binh), La Lay and Lao Bao (Quang Tri), Bo Y (Kon Tum), Moc Bai and Xa Mat (Tay Ninh), Tinh Bien, Vinh Xuong (An Giang) and Ha Tien (Kien Giang).
  • 13 sea border gates also issue electronic visas: Hon Gai, Cam Pha (Quang Ninh), Hai Phong, Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa), Vung Ang (Ha Tinh), Chan May (Thua Thien Hue), Da Nang, Nha Trang Trang (Khanh Hoa), Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh), Dung Quat (Quang Ngai), Vung Tau (Ba Ria Vung Tau), HCMC and Duong Dong (Kien Giang).

The Vietnamese government also decided to extend the stay in Vietnam from 15 to 45 days for citizens of 13 countries that are unilaterally exempted from visas by Vietnam.

  • These countries are: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Belarus.
  • Citizens of these countries are allowed to stay for 45 days from the time of entry, regardless of passport type and purpose of entry.
